Michelangelo Sistine Chapel La Pieta Lamentation of Mary Jesus Olive Wood

The figure depicts one of the most tragic and important events in the life of Jesus Christ. For the first time la pieta was made by the famous sculptor Michelangelo who depicted the Lamentation of Jesus Christ in the Sistine Chapel.  
Now such figure is one of the best gifts from the Holy Land as a part of Via Dolorosa. The figure is made by hand from the natural olive wood by the masters of Bethlehem. Due to the usage of the natural olive wood, each figure has unique pattern and can be considered as a real peace of art.
